GENERAL INFORMATION

BC60 is a state-of-the-art automated blood culture system featuring excellent antibiotic adsorption properties based on microporous and cationic resins added to the culture fluid. BC60 provides quick and easy detection of bacterial growth with high reliability and diagnostic accuracy. High-precision temperature control systems ensure temperature equilibrium distribution and optimal growth of bacterial culture. BC60 is a modular system offering the possibility to expand the capacity up to 360 bottles.

PRINCIPLE OF THE METHOD

Samples are inoculated into the culture fluid and the bottles are scanned before placing in the apparatus. During incubation, a detector reads the presence of growth every 10 minutes. The minimum time for positive results is 3 hours, and the result is confirmed by a colorimetric sensor to monitor the presence and production of carbon dioxide (CO2) dissolved in the nutrient medium. The automated software immediately provides the reported result and notifies by sound and light signal.
